It's such a beautiful location, and we wanted to enjoy it, and Italy, for as long as we could. So, we decided to avoid the motorways to Lucerne for as much as possible, and followed the road that snakes along the Western shoreline as far as Menaggio, before cutting through The Alps and crossing the border in to Switzerland near Lugano. ... where we got to choose from three local restaurants, in chick to dine. Grissies decided to eat at Wirtschaft zur ente. There we had a wonderful dinner: Started with an aperitif of champagne, mineral water, elderflower syrup, lime piece and mint - very refreshing and a great summer drink. ... already when we've been too boisterous!! Dinner tonight was a classic...the head waiter stood at the top of our table, very erect with arms by his side, and shouted "enjoy your meal!" In such a way I was waiting for his heels to click followed by the salute! It was hilarious and a few of us had tears streaming down our faces we were laughing so much!
The two hour walking tour was great...all the local guides we've had have been fantastic ...

After my brief visit in Lausanne, I am now back in Zurich. I visited the tourist info center to get a map of the city walking tour. It winds around downtowmn and goes past all the interesting spots.Should take about about 2 hours, however it started raining, so im waiting it out at Starbucks.
