      ... We didn't expect much and ended up having a great day and meal for, once again, a low price that left us scratching our heads. The food here is pretty amazing if you stray from the old town tourist traps.

      We bought our tix for Prague already and moved our stuff into a dorm for tonight. We plan to just get up early for the bus, so Deanne's initiation to dorm life as an adult will be brief.

      After we roamed around the Imperial Garden, we set off to look for Demel. We needed coffee and just one more sweet thing. We came across some more really cool buildings and just sat on the buildings soaking in the perfect weather and enjoying our company.

      ... though, was that Regina found nothing of interest in the shops -- she'd been told that great local crafts were to be had here at much better prices than in Budapest. Pretty sure we will recover from this setback. After dinner traditional Slovac performers came aboard to entertain us. They were excellent - especially the dulcimer and fiddle players. A great ending to the day. Later tonight, hopefully we'll be asleep, the ship sets sail for Vienna - about 50 miles ...

      But suddenly we were outside of tenement city and surrounded by tiered vineyards at the foot of the Carpathian Mountains. The mountains themselves were populated with ice-covered trees making them look like icy cotton balls covered the land.       ... of the afternoon was a lesson from the chef and pastry chef on how to make apple strudel. I happened to be sitting in the front row and was "volunteered" to be an assistant. That was pretty scary - me making pastry. About as scary as Blaire blowing glass. Anyway we got through it and sampled some very nice strudel.
