The hotel was nice and cheap. It wasn't super close to the beach but it was close to clubs, and there are always plenty of motor taxis waiting for tourist out on the streets. We got a double room (2 double beds) with a hot tub (too bad there was no hot water :( ) and it was 1900 pesos a night. It wasn't the cleanest but it was good enough. It was also safe. There was wifi available in the lobby. If you go here, check out the food cart that is down the road on the way to the clubs. Its in front of a car repair shop. Great food and people :)

We just got back from a wonderful 10 days in Punta Cana. We stayed at the Esmeralda Punta Cana resort. It was quite hot and humid for my liking, but we had a great time. It was our third visit there and we decided to do an ATV excursion, a parasail excursion off the beach which did not turn out well. And a free shopping excursion which was nice they had a hard rock café restaurant and we had a delicious hamburger the last night we were there. As far as the parasail ...

... the beach and Stacey filled her bottles with sand and we took photos. Saw a Dominican family playing in the surf - We both went topless sunbathing and a man walking with his wife tried not to look. I think we might have even been buzzed by a helicopter! - Took pictures in the surf - Tonight was a meal at the Seaside grill. Best steak I have ever had in a restaurant and the chocolate brownie was a towering monster ...

... but as it was booked we wandered down to the World Cafe for supper. We walked back to the beach to watch a movie, but gave in after being buried in sand with high winds blowing the beach around We went back to the shops and picked up some sweets. Then took in the International Show of dancing. Back to the room to relax and read and check out pizza room ...

Nothing says fun in the sun like a picture of your mother with a medic after sustaining a head injury. - Dinner at Bordeaux was amazing, complete with a champagne drink to start which was my favourite drink of the whole week. It's a restaurant I would never thought to go to alone so thanks, Stacey! - I think this is the day we discovered the pretzels.....I really liked those ...

Big plans today! We were off shopping at a local souvenir shop, "Nicole's" after a bite to eat at the buffet. It was crowded but we spent a couple hours in total and managed to pick up most of our souvenirs. We decided to check out the gym before lunch. Boy was it warm! Then off to the Barefoot Grill for chicken and beef tacos. We had to scramble to eat our few chips ...
