    Our first dinner was wonderful. We sat at a table for six. The waiter said his name was Bogdan, but we could call him Bob. He is from Romania. There seem to be lots from Romania. The maitrie 'd is also. He kept coming by to check and saing "any pain, any bruises?" The first meal was wonderful. We had a little more orientation in the lounge then off to bed.     ... the Danube for a bit. Before you know it we are back to the ship. We sail around noon towards Vilshofen, Germany our final stop.     ... degree. Second, this is a job where you are allowed to drink beer while working with 2,000 degree furnaces!! The expert who was demonstrating his craft to us finished a one liter bottle, during the 25 minutes we watched and opened a second. Quite a job!     41 kms AM - Wow, what a morning! The exhibits in the Gäubodenmuseum in Straubing were extraordinary; the Roman objects found buried there in 1950 are amazing! Metal breastplates, knee guards, shin guards, helmets, swords, silver coins etc in perfect condition. The Romans settled here in 70 AD and called the place "Sor-viodurum". PM - The Danube trail is well signposted, we have only lost it several times, mostly entering or leaving ...
