Had a sleep in today as been getting to bed later than usual. By the time we finish dinner it is nearly eleven! Today we went on one of the most spectacular walks - The Valle of the Ferriere. The walk has aspects of everything in it and photos just have not done it justice. ... was 18 km at mostly 4 or 5% it was a matter of just getting into a rhythm and keep turning the legs over, I pulled up for a pee about half way through this climb feeling bit worse for wear, was peeing and looked up and saw a beautiful snow capped mountain, straight off a post card. ... me happy. Back to the house and I read for a few hours in the beautiful shaded area with the jasmine all around. Then, we decided to do our cooking today for lunch instead of dinner which was very nice. We made zuccini pasta - so yummy. Then, fried eggplant with mozzarella & salad. ... in my childhood hearing preachers claim that “God punished Pompeii for its sexual sinfulness” People were shocked to discover in Pompeii, not only a beautifully crafted city, but also artwork displaying giant sexual organs—not something we typically think of when we think of ancient Rome. Personally, I think their only “sin” was building a city a little too close to an active volcano—nothing more!
