There were still a million restaurants and shops aimed at tourists, but there was not the intensity of the locals hassling you to buy their goods, nor were there spruiker out the front of restaurants hammering you to get inside and scoff their food. It was a nice change to be able to walk amongst the old relics or medieval time at your own pace and without having to batter people away.
