      ... the suffering, enough reasons, why to do seemingly so crazy things!
      My running friends on the Gold Coast can probably sing a song about this, as I read ,they were doing the 500 km Endeavour run at temperature of up to 47 degree, and, I am sure, sill be happy at the end!

      We felt very privileged and were treated very well in the ryokans, I'll miss Japan.

      We also enjoyed the 7 samurai home village, with bonsai and the intriguing kanakasi airplane fighters museum with photos of all of them. They looked so young and an old man giving a talk about it, still a lot of interest, after all these decades. No photos allowed.

      ... relic of the past.

      We spent about 2.5 hours at Tsuwano but honestly, we could have stayed here for much longer. It was a rush just trying to get to the Taikodani Inari Shrine, which is one of the five greatest Inari shrines. We had to go through several tunnels of tori gates before reaching the shrine, up the hill. It was well worth the effort.

      ... and back. This took about 2 hrs one way . Unfortunately there were some long tunnels and some windows were left meaning that the carriage filled up with smoke, we learnt very quickly to shut windows before entering the next tunnel
