Took the train from Nuremberg to Munich. Encountered a group of refugees. Pretty difficult to get through with all the police that were there as well. I thought we might miss our train!! We didn't miss this connection although it is really full. One more transfer and we will be in ...

We spent the morning at the salt mine. The tour starts with putting coveralls on. We then went on a mini train. We spent the day in Salzburg, about 30 km from Ramsau. After breakfast we headed to a park and ride on the outskirts of Salzburg and took the bus into downtown. Parking is crazy and expensive in the tourist area. It was only about 15 minutes into town. The shops, churches and fortress were amazing. Everything is expensive. We didn't buy much. We toured the cemetery by St. Peter's church and ...

We stopped at a woodworkers tourist shop and looked at some carvings. We headed to our B and B in Ramsau and had a nice dinner in the local pub. We sat at a large table with some local gentlemen who helped Mike practice his German. We had trout and it was delicious. I had some local schnapps ...

It was about an hour away in Imst (near Innsbruck) and we went two different days.

So basically you take a ski lift up to the top of a mountain (I did a bit of nail picking and lap staring during our rides up). Once up get in a plastic cart thingy and ride down the side of the mountain to the bottom. The carts are these individual seat roller coaster carts on metal rails. I know that sounds insane and it is! But it is so incredibly fun!!! If ...
