          ... unreal, sun is fierce and not a breath of wind. Afternoons on the balcony are the order of the day, listening to all the birds shouting at each other and arguing over bread dropped on the floor at the cafe by the lake.
          Only downside is having to wait until 7 till the restaurants open. Not easy for two gluttons like us. Had a rubbish meal first night too which is enough to put us in a bad mood for about a week. Italy almost done. ...

          ... distances and speeds are regulated and monitored on camera. A truck carrying hazardous material was escorted through the tunnel. Some of the other tunnels were older and less ‘pleasant’ as the airflow wasn’t great. I am slightly claustrophobic but became so blasť about tunnels that on the second rainy day I contemplated a stopover in a tunnel siding. I would pick my tunnel and spot though.
