Well, compared to the time we spent trying to get a 'Rome' headline, this one was a piece of cake, or un torta a pezzo as us Italians say. The issue we had this time, was which one to use, but in the end, felt The Doors gave us the opening we needed, (geddit?). Oh, please yourselves. Our final week in Lucca passed pretty quickly you won't be surprised to know. The last weekend was beautiful, as ...

... hadn't realised when we stopped in Bellinzona last night that it is a Unesco World Heritage listed site, as it has 3 magnificent castles built in the 13th, 14th & 15th centuries and surrounded by a high city wall, and then surprisingly the weekend was also Unesco 'open house' weekend, so all buildings were open and free to the public.

We caught the 10 am shuttle into Bellagio central and bought a "hop-on-hop-off" ticket for the ferries that constantly cross cross the ...

Hello there. If you cant remember where we left off it was our last night in Nice.

I hit the jackpot as it was only us 3 in the room for our early morning departure. Old mate Doctor ******** was in his bed snoring away and it was my turn for revenge. I turned the lights on banged doors opened and closed zips repeatedly near his head to try and pester him and wake him up like he had done to us for the previous 3 nights. Nothing doing. The ******* didn't even stir. ...

... amount of wood and logs that had been washed down the mountains side into the lake. On arrival at Como we had cheese and meat platter to share with wine (hot chocolate for Stu!) before a quick gelato. Como is very stylish, a little like Cambridge by a lake. Lots of people have little dogs and look elegant. Buildings are beautiful. Shops are mostly new to us. We enjoyed an aimless wander. Got speedboat back to Tremezzo at 7.20pm ready for ...
