Alongside me in the queue for the 19:05 bus from Berlin Hbf to Szeczin for phase 18.7 (b) of the journey to Warsaw is James. He's on the way from his home in Münster to teach English for a week in the Polish hills. I find out that like me he's into his amateur dramatics as we await the arrival of the 22:00 sleeper train at the train station later. My ream of fudged-together 'tickets' ...

... return journey from Gdansk we have paid just £75.00 return for both of us. A real bargain!

There is not a huge amount to see in Szczecin, but certainly enough to keep busy for a day of city wandering when interspersed with a few coffee, beer or food stops. Our last stop was the Maritime Academy on the riverfront, which had gorgeous architectural features. The riverfront itself provided gorgeous views across the city. From there it was only a short walk back to the car, and we headed home to Brollin.

All in all, an exciting day out and definitely a place I'll visit again!

I rolled into my new home around 17:30 local time after arriving at Pasewalk station. I was picked up by Peter, a local who works at the Schloss. It was a 10 minute drive to Bröllin, and Peter showed me to my room before taking me on a tour of the place. At this point, I had not slept in 28 hours and could no longer feel my feet. Peter tells me that there's a going-away party for him starting in ...

... being. This German though had other ideas. No sooner had I switched of the ignition than he was peering through the window at the side door. Not wanting to seem rude I opened the door and before I could say hi, his head was inside taking a good look around. Lily being my home and all, in sure you can understand how unnerving this would be! He stood chatting for a good 10 mins before I could get rid of him. I'm sure he was harmless but I just felt a little creeped out by the him. So, ...
