We took the bus into Antibes and did some sightseeing in the market.
Walking along the harbor wall we saw beaches, many sailboats, and a clever sculpture made of letters called Nomade, 2010. That's Candace sitting in it for a photo.
There is a small park across from our hotel, and everyday a group of men, who look of Middle Eastern or northern African descent, have sat at a picnic table playing a game ...
... at a time !!!
The area has not changed much since our last visit this time last year although we are at a different campsite much smaller and very friendly, the madam of the campsite cooks every evening and lots of people wander up to the reception area to buy whatever is being cooked . Think we may try her paella one evening.
... including Russian oil businessman Roman Abramovich's 86 m Ecstasea and his gift to fellow Russian businessman Eugene Shvidler (Le Grand Bleu) - apparently the cost of a berth was between 1m and 1.4m euros last year - how the other half live! It was by now late afternoon so we made our way back to the van and spent a while reading in the sun. 25th May. Following breakfast we made our way back in to Antibes as we wanted to catch the land train to the next bay ...
... the gorge as you can tell from the photos and to see the lake at the end of the gorge is absolutly stunning.
We stopped by the lake and the dogs had a well deserved walk and swim in the lake and then we found a delightful bar for lunch !! After lunch we drove to a village called Moustiers where there is a chapel high up in the rocks and high above that is a gold star that was apparently a present from a Knight back in the dark ...
... gardens and views amazing. The Rothchilds really do have more money than god. The last day on the French rivieria and Scot thought it best if Nancy had the day off, there was no way Mum was getting back in that car, so we took the train to Monaco. The formula 1 grand prix had been there a week ago, go Mark Weber, and they were still packing up. The place is very pretty and clean. The palace was visited and more pins were brought.
