      CHANIA, CRETE, OCTOBER 15, 2014

Today we are in Chania, Crete (pronounced HAN IA). This port city is on the western coast of Crete. It was founded in the 3 century BC.. It has been occupied by many ethnic groups over the years but it has always been Greek with the Greek language. Crete is the largest of the Greek Isles. There are over 35 million ...

... There is very little green space.  And there are cars and motorbikes everywhere.  There are more cars than there is space for them.  Cars are sitting on sidewalks, parked halfway into streets, the streets and narrow and honking is constant.   Most of the people in the city are more Greek and Mediterranean, where in the Old Harbour, from what I can tell, all of the vacationers are from Western Europe.  There is ...

      Sail away from Venice

We received a special invitation to a sail away party with the senior officers on the Helipad cruising out of Venice. Spectacular scenery accompanied by champagne for a select few. We felt very special! Our boat towered over all of Venice and it was just magical to see all the old buildings, bridges and ...
