Losing more than half a day, gaining a lifetime. This morning was all about getting up in a relaxed manner, getting the house ready for a month of no maintenance and traveling nearly 10.000 km to Tsudanuma in the Narashino prefecture of Tokyo. With the time difference I leave wednesday at 15:00 and arrive thursday at 9:00. Should I fail at sleeping in the plane today, this will mean that I have at least a thirty two hour day in front of me. So. Today ...
... around the lock area, saw some more Lemsteraak sail boats and had coffee.
Oh and ... yes we saw a lighthouse. But it is a replica.
The lighthouse was originally built in 1887 and demolished in 1968. This 1993 replica was built for a film and now stands on the pier.
Amazing how cheeky sparrows are. The cleaned up the plate on the table next to us. And they had a go at Mama's cream. I think they would have taken crumbs from our fingers, they were that tame. ...

After Schokland, we then travelled on to the next "island" - Urk. This too was an island until the Noordoostpolder was created. And this too has a lighthouse, this time still complete and active.

Big brother is watching
Interesting title ? but wait, there is more… as I could be big brother who is watching. More on that later. The days of traveling are coming to an end, I will be returning home on the 22nd leaving from Schiphol- Amsterdam Airport to fly to Brisbane via Singapore. Unfortunately there are people I have not visited; more a reason to come back ...
... for sports such as sailing. Sloten is near the Slotermeer. It is a historical city with old buildings and a mill in the center of the city. (wikipedia)
We had a little walk (you could circumnavigate the place in 30 min.) and took lots of pictures.
