    ... They were everywhere. In fact I tripped on a couple so desperate they were to eat their crumbs they don't move out of the way very fast.

    It was late afternoon by this stage and we needed to get to Verona to check in to the next hotel. So we retraced our steps to the Metro, and found our car exactly where we had left it - wheels all in tact, no graffiti and no traffic tickets - woohoo!

    A short 90 minute drive and we were in the fair city ...

    ... arrived from nowhere, and another jug of warmed milk. The Italians do know how to brew a good coffee. Even Connor has been enjoying a brew or two while here in Europe. This morning he decided to have a cappuccino, and later, at morning tea, an iced coffee (which turned out to be less with the ice cream and ice, and more of the 'made with cold water'. Its all an experience!!)

    ... the nice bits. The running however is as good as anywhere else I have ran in Italy. There is a park with dirt tracks just 200m or so from our apartment which we have used for all our running so far. Today we had our best training experience with DDS so far.     ... but ended up hopping on at the last second, though I had accidentally gotten on first class and someone yelled at me, but I was alread adrenaline pumped it didnt really affect me. I made it to Mendrisio and met Ele finally, about 14 hours after getting on the train to Rome. She made me risotto with ham and it was great.
