Not our usual kind of hotel but this was the beginning of the Antarctica expedition and this was their base of operations.

Since leaving Puerto Chacabuco two days ago, we had been enjoying scenic cruising through the fjords of Southern Chile, which took the better part of an entire day.

Despite inclement weather, nothing was going to stop the 1500 passengers eagerly scanning the channels for wildlife such as sea lions, dolphins, and whales. At one stage we only had a metre of water beneath the hull, so the ship slowed from the usual 17 knot speed to 5 knots ...
