Since leaving Puerto Chacabuco two days ago, we had been enjoying scenic cruising through the fjords of Southern Chile, which took the better part of an entire day.

Despite inclement weather, nothing was going to stop the 1500 passengers eagerly scanning the channels for wildlife such as sea lions, dolphins, and whales. At one stage we only had a metre of water beneath the hull, so the ship slowed from the usual 17 knot speed to 5 knots ...

... necessarily in that order between Holly and me. Hostal Ovejero wasn't exceptional at any one of those, but did well at all of them except Wi-Fi. The signal would drop now and then for a few minutes at a time. There was a computer near reception that we could use during those times though. We are much more forgiving about location than most reviews we read. We aren`t night owls, so we don't want to be in the center of action and are willing to walk to do things. It is amazing ...

... tickets, that we weren't aware of at the time. We eventually made our way to Ecuador and thus started our South American portion of the trip. So after a few extra days in Guayaquil we managed to get Dale back and start on the road to Tierra del fuego. A little side note to that first drive in South America ,well we got into a little car accident when I, Cedric, backed Dale into another car, unfortunately quite fast. Oops! ...

... the weather is a little warmer than it has been since after we left Puerto Madryn. Today the weather was a still warming from our journey back north towards the equator and the dark low riding clouds that have been with us since we passed the Falklands and headed to the cape, were now easing and only a whiter and higher cloud cover was visible.
