The weather was miserable (rain and cloud) but we made the most of our time there by enjoying the historical sites and hearing how Christopher Plummer, the Captain in the Sound of Music, spent most of his time pi55ed when not filming. Disgusting I say.

they filmed the wedding scene in the abbey there. In the town there is a café across the street
from the church which sells amazing apple strudel. Our tour guide was hilarious
and made many jokes along the way. The final stop on the tour was the Mirabell
Gardens where they shot the ‘do-re-mi’ sequence. Although, part of the gardens
were shut during the winter, we still got to see the fountain and the final
scene stairs ...
