    ... time to head to the market which re-opened at 4:30pm and yes, Italians like Hispanics get an afternoon break where everything closes for a few hours. We found the grocery store with no problem and picked up a few items to enjoy a home cooked meal in our apartment. Tonight we had a chicken pesto penne pasta with green salad, yum. Another lovely day in Italy.

    ... of the mosaics are taken. They are beautiful. There is also a relic of St. John Paul II. Then we went to Monte Sant'Angelo on the bus. It was up a mountain. St. Michael the Archangel appeared to a bishop in a cave there. We went to the cave.     ... the site of an abbey founded by the Benedictine monks in 1045. The castle was built in the 1700's to keep out the Turks. It is fairly run down, but there is restoration work going on in the church, which has a lovely mosaic floor, which looks Roman.
