... to spend heaps per night for a bed abroad, but I cringe every time I pass those hotels. Once, when I was in Europe and my great-aunt visited, we did the 'Eight Capitols in Ten Days' trip. I tried to talk her out of it, but it was her one shot at Europe, and she wanted to check all the countries and their capitol cities off the list. Anyway, we spent the nights in those kinds of hotels. Besides being overpriced, there is absolutely no way you are ...

... was the bus ride into Paris!! Unfortunately my bladder forced me to use the bus toilet thought which was super not cool. Once we had arrived in the busier parts of Paris, we caused quite the traffic jam, which then meant we had to pull up on the side of the road and walk the remaining distance - which was super fun. After settling in to our super dooper tiny rooms we headed downstairs for tea. Very sadly though, ...

Due to this museums went on the backburner for my next visit and I explored many areas of the city by foot with the help of Dianne's amazing guide book - * Champs-Élysées - explored this Main Street on Christmas Eve down the main walkway taking the all the monuments, checking out The Louve and soaking up the Christmas cheer * Latin quarter - the cafe and bar scene filled with hip students and lots of life * The ...

... with umbrellas in hand waiting to enter. That reminded us, we probably should get ourselves an umbrella. 6€ later, we had one. With only backpacks in hand for our trip the luxury of bringing things like umbrellas was not an option. On our way to the Notre Dame cathedral we stopped for a treat Brittany was looking forward to since we booked our trip, a Chantilly (whip cream) crepe. Along with it I got a panini with chicken and tomato that hit the spot, both from this ...

After dinner William took us outside for a toast of Champagne and grape juice to say goodbye and say farewell. We all said our goodbyes and gave out email addresses.

I really enjoyed my time in Paris and would love to come back soon. All the people I met were great.

tomorrow I am up at 4:30 to catch the 5:45 shuttle to CDG. My plane takes off at 10:00. By 6pm I will be back in Chicago.

Thank you for coming along for the ride.

    Au Revoir!
