      ... is apparently quite ancient. In Homer’s Odyssey there is mention of it being cultivated outside Calypso's cave, when she is holding Odysseus captive. That was about 800 BC!

      Today in France the bulbous root is usually sliced into matchsticks and served in a mayonnaise vinaigrette sauce to make céleri rémoulade. This is often included in plates of raw vegetable salads which are a common first course in French meals. It is delicious.

      ... it was 2am and not 2pm that the waiter had said. A little bit different to Perth and our local coffee shop excelsior in Shenton Park which shuts at 3pm!

      ... a long walk in the pouring rain with our backpacks from the hotel to the Merto to catch a train to the north side of town.       Oh boy, Today I learned a lot about Paris. The most important lesson I learned is that Paris has beautiful sights, but the people are rude and I am so glad I did not decide to study here.
