A nice afternoon and evening with cousin Saskia, Mark Tante Nelly and Oom Henk.

The weather was perfect for a tree top walk and Heather Walk at Het Boomkroonpad.

Then dinner at Chinese Restaurant Wo Hing in Assen.

An early morning start for me to get to Roelof and Janny's place in Gorredijk. Then we were off to Urk, a fishing village which was once an island. The weather was great to sit outside and enjoy coffee and lunch and a stroll around the village.

Arrived on time and bought a Dutch sim card for my phone. I'll be here for a while and lots of people to contact and it will be handy for transport apps to have a bit of data too. Then off to get a transport card for travelling on the trains and maybe buses too.

I found the right train with one change at Zwolle and then Rosa met me at Groningen train station.

It is great to be here and it is sunny and warm!

... off the train and take a dive into the worlds largest harmonium museum on the way back out. Neither of us had ever seen a harmonium but we soon discovered they are much like an old school keyboard. We had a demo from the caretaker and then carried on our way to the other end of the museum via boat. Stopping to have some coffee, cake and a photo in front of a giant clog house before wandering down through the old village and some traditional peat houses. Sean ...

Went to a waterpark in Groningen today. It had a waterslide and I think we went down it fifty times! When we went grocery shopping we used these cool scanning things to add your things up as you shop. Every sauce in Holland seems to have mayonnaise in it. Later in the day we went op-shopping and I found an awesome purple suit. Watched world cup football on the TV that ...
