I thought about what I was going to do with my second flower, I decided on giving it to the front desk lady to make sure she had a flower on Woman's Day! ... one nerve-wracking moment when the train switched directions leaving a stop. However, since nobody else in our car seemed concerned, we decided that the change of direction must be a normal occurrence on the route.

Here I must confess that I've been misspelling Basia's name. Previously I've written Basha (which is how it is pronounced), but it is spelled Basia.

... next day. We had to get ready to board the train from Berlin to Warsaw.

We were up at 7:15am.

We needed to pack up our stuff and ensure that the place was clean before we left. We then made our way to the train station by cab to catch the train to Warsaw, Poland. The trip was very nice. It was a great opportunity to enjoy the Polish countryside and take in our roots.

Polish home cooked food and vodka of course haha, we were able to ask more questions about Grampy Adamczyk as a young man in Poland, how he was, what type of a boy was he growing up and what they knew about him landing in Canada after the war. I think a lot of questions that many of the family members around that table had had for many years got answered that night, and it was a good breath ...
