      Too noisy!

No air-con. Too near the main road, hence, very noisy at night or in the morning, even though location is quite convenient.

We flew into Munich late morning and after checking into our hotel we set off to look at Nymphenburg Palace. We have so many palaces and castles we will see on this trip and we know we don't have time to tour them all on the inside so we just walked around the grounds and gardens of this one. The palace used to be a summer residence for the rulers …

... places we'd been (such as the Grand Hotel in Nuremburg), we'd been seated by a hostess - and we'd always seen a hostess at our restaurant. But when we arrived, there was no one there, and we waited patiently... for 5-10 minutes without being acknowledged. Finally, we went to the hotel concierge who walked back over to the restaurant with us, and seated us.

The food was tasty though the service continued to be a little erratic. ...

... tenuous and extreme interpretation of Munchen’s development.

Overall it was very worthwhile; I wanted to stay longer and see more. It ended about 3pm near the Englisher Garden so I wandered over to the surfers wave; its a sluice which generates a standing wave popular with the locals. Then wandered a bit through the garden reading the kindle and deciding weather to go on the beer tour. In the end I left it a bit late and got sidetracked watching some ...

... swan butts…we could've enjoyed watching them for hours, but we had a train to catch.

We caught the 12:10 train to Zurich where we changed to a train that goes to Munich. Literally, as soon as we got off the train in Munich, the lederhosen and dirndls (Bavarian gear…for Oktoberfest) began to appear. Then suddenly, we were surrounded by men and women dressed in traditional, and not so traditional, Bavarian clothing for ...

The next day was tuesday and we planned a trip to salzburg austria. Salzburg is simply amazing. It is a historical coty with royal gardens, crowded plazas, and crowned by a huge castle at the top of the city. We started from the main train station towards the castle stopping off at the house of Mozart, the house of the princes, and a river for ...
