        Overnight rain, cloudy and damp morning, clouds breaking up and sunshine by mid-afternoon.
        Fortunately for Kathleen, she had done "the church bit", Saturday evening, so, no need to walk to church in the rain this morning!

        On a whim I wander up a side street where I can see an impressive church tower. At the far side of the church is a wonderful mediaeval covered market / tythe barn dating from the 14th century and a lovely old bistrot with outside tables and chairs. It is a serendipitous find.

        ... the animosity when people heard their German accents. On then towards Montbard and TomTom took us through the longest rough track must have been about 10k through a huge forest, quite amazing although I now know why they cover horses faces to protect from flies as they wouldn't leave us alone - around your face the whole time.         ... About ten minutes later a different lady from the tourist office came out and started to yell at me in rapid French. I told her that I did not understand so she said in English, “You cannot sit here. Come inside, send your message, then leave.” Her look and tone implied that I was a piece of trash she’d rather not deal with. I gave her my most glaring look and left.
