Exploring the Chateaus
... climb over very rocky terrain but spectacular at the top. Its history dates back to 938AD and was used as a fortress to oppose incursions from Spain until 1659. Craig and I roamed around the castle without any other visitors so it was quite amazing.
There are so many chateaus perched on so many mountain peaks in this region, and as spectacular as they are, two is enough!

Country Roads of France
... lining the roadside. As we neared Quillan (pronounced key - arn) we entered a picturesque gorge. Amazing rock overhangs fell across the road and a rocky stream ran along the side of the road - really stunning.
Arrived at our accommodation, Le Jardin de Gorges, in the village of Belvianes et Cavirac, which sits at the base of the mountain range which is just outside our room. I think we will enjoy this.
