... Aldo dropped us off at the train station. Train left on time at 2:00. We should arrive in Rome at 3:05. Arrived on time. Grabbed a cab and got home by 4:00. Today, our small group went to the Coliseum. The architecture and scenes were amazing. It is crazy to think that people built something this huge and grand such a long time ago, when there wasn't construction tools or as much technology. It is also amazing that it still being preserved, even though the construction equipment isn't as nice to look at.

... it was horrible, it was like 6 miles. We finally made and we got some Mcdonald breakfast (so American I know) . There was about 60 people on the trip and the bus took about 2 hours to get there. The city was beautiful and built on a huge so everything was uphill.

-Spartacus, the most famous gladiator, never actually fought a fair fight during his entire career. All of his opponents were injured in some sort of way before battle.
-The Romans tried to plan all the gladiator events in the fall/winter seasons because during the heat of the summer the stench of the rotting corpses and blood soaked sand was too strong.
