    ... kind of perspective that you can't get from any kind of book, or documentary. I'm not trying to deter anyone from visiting a camp, because I do think it is something that you should experience, even though I felt a little uncomfortable doing it.

    ... girls, one teenage guy, one eighty year old German guy and me.

    I've been outcast before, many times in fact, but not as an adult, this was weird. The girls would look at me and giggle, whisper to each other and giggle again, the teenage guy didn't seem too happy with what they were saying, I came to the conclusion they were being giddy little school girls and he'd have rather been at home then listen to them talk about guys.     After dinner we had a John tour around town and finished with an ice cream for the girls and a beer for us at a quaint café in a back neighhood of Munich. It was lovely and the lighting made for a very gentle environment. There were many buskers about. Violins were much in evidence and families obviously enjoy the area as well. The designs of the buildings together with the lighting made for a fairy tale look.

    ... walk and a large sculpture. It was designed by a former inmate and reflects a prisoner's journey through Dachau. Prisoners would walk into camp (ground level of the monument footpath), be stripped of all rights and dignity (lowest level of the monument footpath) and then be released when the camp was liberated by the US forces (back at ground level again).
