          ... going on the curvy and bumpy roads and it certainly gave my stomach a good test. I saw some nice countryside and the areas that the guerillas once had in their control. Essentially, Villavicencio is over the mountains beside Bogota. However, during the 100km drive we descended from 2600m above sea level, to 600m and thus, the temperature went from 21 to 33 (and with humidity it feels like a lot more). It has a population of 600,000- similar to Gold Coast.

          Tio Jose and Patricia decided to join us on our ride, and hopped on their motorcycle to tour around the area of Villavicencio. We left Bogota and enjoyed the beautiful, sunny day on the road. The road dipped into the massive valley of Villavicencio, the plains, where farmers and ranching dominates the area.           Hotel campestre Arboretto is a nice small-sized hotel just 10 minutes away from the center of Villavicencio. Hotel Arboretto is a family-run hotel with 8 cabanas for 4 persons each.
