This little creature is very weird looking, kind of see through and looks a bit like a baby dragon (which is what they used to believe it was) or a snake sort of thing with little legs. We left the ship not knowing what to expect – the ship docked on our side so we got to see all the security firsthand before leaving, but no issues getting off or back on (another stamp for the old passport!).

We collect a tourist map, and headed up the stairs trail to Tito Square where old buildings were abundant as well as a lot of old history. There were plenty of tiny wee shops, being 9am Sunday morning, most were closed for the day.

Today was Verona and Padua. Verona, with its Roman Arena from the first century A.D. where, ironically, they were setting up for a huge concert this evening featuring Adriano, a popular rock group. The inner wall quite well preserved through the centuries and a small section of the outer wall still standing.
