The cave for dummies explanation is the water drips down from the surface of the earth, the drip evaporates and the mineral is left. Different minerals make different colors. So after 10 days of cycling in Slovenia, from the Julian Alps to the Adriatic Coast here is a summary:
kms travelled - 824 (combined)
hills climbed - 47
accidents - 0 (yay)
punctures - 2
hands burnt - 2 (forgot gloves one day. Big mistake - old lady hands here we come)
people met - approx 52
cheese eaten - approx 5 kilos
salami / prosciutto eaten - approx 2 ...
... they kept asking us if they could serve us, or did we want George. Of course we did. They were giving him a hard time and he was loving every minute of it. Finished the afternoo n I with Ewen and Sharon waltzing in front of band . Have enjoyed having the spritzer aperolrr that we were introduced to when we were here with Maureen and Graham. Back to apartment to cook another gourmet dinner, not. Pretty much just through everything in pot, all had had one too ...
