So now we are in Fort Worth. We have a comfortable suite at the Navy Gateway Inn and Suites at NAS Fort Worth (formerly Carswell AFB). We found a barbecue place for supper after we checked in - Dickey's Pit Barbecue. The food was good and plentiful, though a little more informally served than one would expect for the price.
Spent a few hours in a town called Grapevine near the Dallas international airport in Texas during our 8 hour layover. We're waiting to board our plane to Frankfurt now which has been delayed yet again (flight from Rio was previously delayed too). Don't worry, not a technical issue. The euphoria of the day before starting vacation is upon me.
