    ... cemetery to visit the Gorupic' Family plot. We lit candles for Marjian's parents Ivan and Jana. This cemetary is very interesting to wander through and read the head stones. Of course all the names end with ic' and some birth or death dates go back more then a cemetary.

    How amazing is it that we feel so comfortable in the heartland of Croatia to be able to plan a couple days of visiting friends we have met through the years and that we want to stay in contact with forever. What is even more fun is we know how to jump on a train or bus, know what stop to get off at and know which street to turn down to meet these friends for coffee, a pivo (remember that is beer in Croatian) or a meal at a cafe, their houses or their apartments.

    Vedrana means sunshine and she lived up to that name. She had worked as a hospital nurse in Sisak, a nearby city, before marrying her Mr. Right. Now, her days are filled with farm chores, preparing meals with fresh vegetables from her grandmother's garden and taking care of visiting tourists.
