Have had a great day exploring the city on our own before lunch.. pasta of course.. then saved our feet with hop-on hop-off bus to venture further afield.
Duoma a highlight and being Sunday there was singing and the magnificent organ music.
In alcoves along inside there are the preserved bodies of cardinals over 100 years old. The faces had …

Moving on to Turin tomorrow, stay ...

The old town (citta alta) is up on the hill and we had to take ...

... We were in awe (see all the pictures I took which does not do the view justice). After this, we walked around the city until we found the botanical gardens. Sadly, some of it was closed due to the cold (it had snowed a couple days before). So we decided to walk to the Castello di San Vigilio on the top of the mountain. We saw that this road would take us there and it looked short and straight. However, the ...

      What an amazing art experience

... disappointed, and also realising by half twelve that the one pm meeting was not going to happen...so a quick message to Michael to rearrange lunch till two....a message back indicated this was fine and that the man himself was at the end of the tour.....a bit of relief.

So it was onwards to room 22....still no Caravaggio..... Panic set in...there was only the special exhibition of Leonardo da Vinci's Codus Atlantic to go (an exhibition we hadn't known about till ...
