... since we were heading bush, needed to do some washing too.

Glendale delivered, and we found a hair dresser next door to a laundromat next door to a coffee shop. Win, win and win, and now we feel human again, have clean clothes and also are proud owners of Eagle Rock t-shirts and camping pillows. So google guided us through some seedy streets to China Town where we had a half hour wait. We killed some time buying some basic groceries at the 24 hour servo, but it was a relief to get on the bus.

It took nearly an hour to get home (Glendale is not the best place to base yourself to visit LA!) and we collapsed into bed after midnight.

... so all 16 of us as well as the two owners walked along the rows of grapevines making a lot of noise to scare away the birds. Apparently we had some success as they replaced the netting as we finished. The scenery along the west coast of the South Island was spectacular. As our tour guide would say, lots of oohs aha and wows along the way. It is incredible how the glaciers during the ice age carved out canyons along this route. We arrived at Greymouth in the early ...
