quick geography lesson. san andres island, former british territory, now cobfirmed colombian territory but to be found, rather unhelpfully, just off the coast of nicaragua. Amusingly, colombia put up a hell of a fight to keep the island, but were disappointed when it was confirmed because they only actually wanted rights to the surrounding water- thought to contain oil- which remained firmly in Nicaraguan hands

... over crowed beaches. I decided to go back to San Andres on the early boat as the previous day biking around had gotten a little burnt and lying in the sun today just seems a little painful - so no need to get too much more burnt!
I would say well worth the visit though.
