Independence Day!

A travel blog entry by waydownsouth

... a quick llama ride.

The only downturn of this public holiday was the lack of accomodation available in the city. Tucuman is just starting to become on the backpackers trail and so there are only a handful of hostels, most of which were fully booked. After a long walk around with backpacks, we headed for the tourist agency where a friendly lady rang the remaining hostels and secured us a room in one nearby. They were ...

Red, red, red wine!

... dat samen een roadtrip plannen naar de Aconagua (de hoogste berg van de wereld, op de Mount Everest na) de volgende must do was! Out of the taxi into the Hostel we are drenched within seconds. Roaming around town the next day, not much to do or see, very hot and the humidity is unbearable (even if it has stopped raining). We rented a car with ...

... Tafi del Valle. The journey was on one of the windiest roads I've ever been on - I still can't believe that the driver managed to get the bus round some of the corners! The temperature difference 3000ft up made me wish I'd taken my jumper with me but after a 2 and a half hour journey it was a little too late to worry about that! The town was very quaint and didn't have a lot happening - lots of shops selling handmade goods. I did see my first Llamas ...
