    ... proprietor. The mains were gourmet size but the food was vey good and, best of all, everyone was very friendly and welcoming. Doug had ordered Carpaccio de Bouef (ultra thinnly shaved raw beef laid in a spiral on a plate and topped with shaved Parmesan). I had warned him it would be a cold salad type meal.     After leaving Marseille I was directed to stay below 600' and follow the coast west - oh what a shame! Just spectacular, it was fairly overcast, so colours weren't quite popping, but were some sights that I wasn't expecting, as I thought of the French med coast as all built up.

    We spent the weekend in Bretagne, one day in Nantes, and a few days in the sea resort town of La Baule, spending some quality time with family, taking the sun, enjoying the food and exploring the surroundings.
