    ... making for great conditions and made Nick frustrated. Our second beach day was planned after looking at the weather and the strength of the wind because their is no point going to the beach if you can't play bat tennis!!! Before a swim you had to play bat tennis to get hot (apparently lying on your towel with a book doesn't suffice), and after a swim we had to play bat tennis to dry off (again can't do that lying on a towel).     ... Odd how this island is laid out, I can see my house from the restaurant but it is a 15 minute walk through numerous turns and one boatyard to get back home. Dinner was really good, not what I was expecting but then it is always a surprise when you can't actually understand the menu.     ... of the day free, so my friends and I decided to take an hour taxi boat ride to Lido, a small little town adjacent to Venice and walk along the beach. That night we went out again, and this time we were able to get home without a problem, but we found out the next morning at breakfast that one of our friends in the architecture group walked into the canal by accident and was chest deep in gross canal water. Friday morning, we took a quick train ride to Bologna.
