... The
upside was the room was antique looking and suited the atmosphere of the city, plus had amazing wifi connectivity, the downside was that there was no lift and the heating was poor (but they provided lots of blankets).

The next day we headed to San Marco Piazza, where we went to the museums,
including the Doge’s Palace and looked in the shops, did a lot of walking and

A travel blog entry by zingerin on Oct 21, 2014

One of the perks that came with our apartment was the opportunity to meet Giulia's retired chef friend Ada and have her prepare a meal for us. This place just seems fake and I have wanted to come here for years so it’s just kinda surreal and I am having a hard time taking it all in. Every building has so much detail I can’t stop staring and taking pictures (which will never do it justice).

... real Venice, often not explored by tourists.

We spent our second day on a tour of Murano known worldwide for its beautiful Venetian glassware factories, where glass blowers learn their trade for over 20yrs before becoming a master at the trade. We then headed to Torcello the republic's original island settlement, it was largely abandoned due to malaria and now counts no more than 80 residents. The last stop was the beautiful ...
