... was outrageous, sooooo many trucks and of course everything travelling very quickly. It was most tiring for John as the driver. The closer we got to Milan the worse it got, anyway, we survived. Luckily the road basically bypasses Milan and we were soon in Como.
Well a shock we got! The lake is pretty but Como is a huge suburb of Milan really. In fact most of the lake has housing surrounding it, albeit rather flash housing :-). Arrived at ...

We arrived in this beautiful city at dusk so we weren't able to get the most out of it. Stayed there only for one hour and we spent that time in Parco Civico capturing the flickering lights of the city surrounded by mountains. The view from the shores of Lake Lugano was fascinating. ... and head to Switzerland they asked us if we wanted to join them again for lunch before we left. So we are joining them for some more Italian food, I think they are making pasta yum! Its strange that the people are so friendly here, but then in the shops and on the roads everyone just seems angry. When we were in Venice there was a tourist who hadn't weighed their grapes before going to the checkout (you do it yourself here) and the checkout lady just yelled at her 'get ...

We drove to Bellagio and then took the ferry to Varrena with the intention of eating lunch then travelling on to Piona to see an abbey. Just opposite the parking station was the Villa Monastera which has a beautiful botanic garden. We decided to look around the garden. They were lovely with an amazing array of plants from all over the world and the unexpected bonus was that the Villa was open for viewing. In the literature that Roger had seen the villa was only open for ...
