Another 7 am breakfast and 8am chilly start saw us leave the hotel on the short 12 miles ride to our first water stop. It came at the top of a short climb and was set in a beautiful chateau. Bryan's blowout 3 miles later saw us at the back of the group with a half hour delay. This meant a spirited cycle to lunch ! Lunch at 10:30 is a strange affair but was a welcome respite after the catch up. The last 20 miles into Paris were leisurely and we arrived at the assembly park to wait ...
... down to the tour office to check in for our Louvre tour. After checking into the tour we had some spare time so we walked up the Rue De Rivoli against the Louvre and did some souvenir shopping along the way. We took a whole bunch of pictures at the glass pyramid of the Louvre. We then jumped on our small group tour with only 4 other Americans. Our tour guide Sophie was very knowledgable and was great to listen to. We all had headphones to which she had ...
... on the long stretch of grass to bask in front of the tower. The annoying thing was that just as we sat down a heap of Indians come by selling wine hawker style! Blah could have saved ourselves the hassle! Come around 10pm the twinkling lights are turned on. These are magical and you can see all the tourists posing and snapping away with their cameras. I was pretty destroyed by 10.30pm so we headed back on the metro to our hotel for a nice sleep.

... make look nice, but we got one or two keepers! We met an Aussie guy doing the same thing and chatted to him for a while then went to line up to go up the top! We got in the line and were told that the top of the tower was closed and we could only go to the second floor! Shattered! We went anyway and bought our tickets, then got in the cable car that takes you up. It looked pretty cool going through all those lights and beams and bars and metals. We got up there ...
