Lyn bought a raincoat and cotton shirt and we got hummus, savoury pastries, fruit and of course, a baguette. And then into the Marais. We managed to even go through the Place des Vosges where Mr Garcia told us about the Kings eye being poked out in a joust!! Yuck! We also had time to visit a chocolate shop where some of the children bought some of the famous macarons both as presents and to munch down while they were walking for energy. It's going to be a long night I think with all this ...

... and a piano concert, and so the beds were littered with tourists and expats. But it was just the same, which I suppose is the whole point of Shakespeare and Co. From there we went to Gilbert Jeune, the enormous student bookstore next to our hotel to hit the Papeterie for my favorite kind of French shopping: notebooks and stationary. Emma loved it every bit as much as I did, even if by then we were both so tired that standing seemed rather improbable. ...
