... been doing just that for centuries. I thought I'd go for a 'Dunkel' today, a darker ale, and very tasty it was too, but Anita had only ordered me a .3 litre which was even smaller than the 'ladysize' I'd had in Munich... when I realised it was 12.8% strength, I appreciated her choice! They had a bock at 16.9%, which I decided was definitely best avoided...

A long day today, a two hour drive to Chiemsee to take a boat across the lake to Herrenchiemsee the last of the castles built for Ludwig II that we are going to see on our tour. We leave Grein by 9am and head west, out of the Danube Valley, past Salzburg and into Germany to the little village of Petting by the Waginger See.
