We then went back on the bus to the Opera District for lunch and a quick look through the Galeries Lafayette, a huge shopping centre which was just one shop similar to a Myers store but something like 8 levels high over a couple of streets and full of all the designer labels and everything imaginable. I can see how this impression of the French is formed though it is no fault of the French. Tourists in Paris - and of course there are a lot of them - can be so elitist and demanding. ... meat dish in a sort of soup composed of lamb cheeks and something else very soft like sweet breads. Oh, before that we had a smoked herring with beet root, served on a wooden platter, then was very thin cheese slices with a little pot of jam. We also had rhubarb somewhere along the line and the White Chablis transformed into a delicious red.

... almost lost my mom at one point and almost panicked. I found her and told her she couldn't leave my sight for even a second, and this was before I knew how lost a person could get in the Louvre. My advice is simple: Do not go to the Louvre unless you have A LOT of time.
