... on the mosque. Where our hotel is situated, there are at least four mosques within hearing distance. So, we get quite a show, especially at 5.30am when all four Muezzins call together, resulting in quite a mish mash of sounds.

Our long day of driving saw us pulling into Paris at around 6pm, just on dusk. We stayed at the Alliance Hotel Paris Porte de Saint Ouen, which I think is a part of the Holiday Inn chain. ... and out and in front of other traffic at an alarming speed. They
seem to be in tune with each other as we didn't see any accidents
although we did hear lots of tooting. They also feel free to park
anywhere with a total disregard for no parking areas, pedestrian
crossings and corners.

bought a takeaway pizza from the cafe right next door to our hotel

... ourselves and our bags at a sushi cafe for lunch.

Then it was onto the Eurostar and off to Paris. After emerging in France we were treated to a lovely clear sunny day as we sped through the fields. My wonderful friend Ellen was waiting at Gare du Nord when we arrived to. She guided us to our apartment which was only a 10 minute walk away down a gentle slope on La Fayette.

... for Phantom of the Opera) was absolutely stunning and I could actually see most of the dancing on the stage. The ballet was so lovely and graceful and I bought a champagne at intermission which made me feel very elegant. It was a great evening and even better that the ticket only cost ten Euros!
