... out the rain. We decided to try to buy Ben a jacket since there was more rain in the forecast, and he didn't really have one on the trip. We walked through the BHV/Marais (yes the same store we got lost in earlier) and tried to find the men's department. It turned out it was not on any of the seven floors, but across the street in a little offshoot. We looked around quite a bit and finally found a beautiful, perfect jacket. I cant remember the exact cost, but we were both ...

... site. Still lovely though, beige gravel and sand paths leading through immaculately tended gardens and grounds peppered with statues from baroque to modern times. bath or shower in the room, we'd call it the "not so grand hotel", but
it's cheap an we've got Gordon Ramseys nightmares in French.....

... am visiting. It is easy to see why the King of France imprisoned the owner, Nicolas Fourqet, who had this grand chateau built so that he (the king) could confiscate the chateau for himself. Apparently Fourqet did not know the rule that you should never build a home grander than the royal palaces... the same thing happened to King Henry XIII when he set his sights on Hampton Court. Vaux-le-Vicomte, the buildings, chateau and grounds, ...

... to the hunt and nature (mostly animals..). the building was a beautiful old building that had been done up seemingly recently. There were rooms devoted to different animals include the Boar and Wolf Room, the Fowl Room, the Hound Room and within each there were many stuffed animals, paintings, curiosity cabinets, videos, sculpture as well as hidden gems throughout that were only apparent if you took the time to look. It really is beyond description ...
