... us a strange moment this morning, as I said it's very modern, with shutters working electronically, radio buttons beside the bed etc, this morning I got up to have a shower and pulled a cord in the bathroom. A travel blog entry by suepaine on Sep 13, 2013

Today we woke to what was a lovely day which soon became overcast. Today was meant to be a lay day ie a rest day but being our last day all 4 of us hit the shops of Positano, Sue Merry in search of a sleeveless top and jewellery and Sue Paine in search of a dress and top and an apron with the Limoncello recipe on it so it could be made at home. ... zooming around. Even I was a little car sick on this ride today. There was not as much traffic, so the bus was moving faster around corners. We get to Cetera, a quaint town, windsurfers and kayakers were on the water today. There was a wedding and the couple left town in a colorful row boat. At 6, time to catch return bus to Maiori, again spectacular views and overlooks. Tomorrow, Ravello and it's ...

... poured in plaster and now we have these casts showing the victims' positions when they were buried by the ash (with their bones in the cast as well, of course). I was struck by how advanced this city was; they had well organized streets, with crosswalks and pedestrian-only zones (with stone blocks to keep out the chariots), and the Roman baths had heated floors. They had shops and eateries; they entertained in their homes and met friends at the bar. In a lot of ways, they don't seem ...
