    ... a few minutes I looked behind me and there was a policemen with a machine gun, and he was peering into our little dark garden. I said to Div that maybe we should get up and quietly walk off, which we did. Our little "friend " looked a little panicky.     ... 2 hours at Pompeii walking through the ruins, hearing about how the town has been (and continues to be) restored. Then it's back on the coach for our final leg to Maiori on the Amalfi coast. I didn't know much about this part of Italy before coming on this trip, only that there were lots of holiday villages along the coast.     ... Time to return, walk back up to the road and wait for a bus ride back. Once back at apartment, we are able to reach Beth Forsyth so we can ask about Duke & Ella. They are doing great, watching birds out the windows all day, Ella follows Sam around and Duke stays with Beth when they are home from work/school. Cats have had no fights, no jealousy, must like having a place to themselves all day.
