TravelPod Member ReviewsHotel Baeren St. Moritz
We have been told not to expect too much of the hotels in Switzerland. The Hotel Baren proved to be an exception to this. It has good sized bed, bath and sitting rooms and a balcony with beautiful views of the mountains behind St. Moritz.
The food was OK but not what I would normally order (Broccoli soup, ham and turkey and fruit salad).
There is no internet in the room but it is available in the lobby.

This morning we caught a series of 3 trains to take us from our hotel in Zurich Airport to St Moritz. St. Moritz is home to the rich and famous during the skiing season. The tourists desert St Moritz at this time of year so it is fairly quiet. The journey involved us catching 3 trains and a bus. One train from Zurich Airport to Zurich - about 10km …
Had another lovely day in paradise, not such a good day weather wise as mostly raining, but still beautiful. In the morning we had an Austria guide to show us around a couple of churches and the city. Another abc of the churches so no more of them. The town of Innsbruck is beautiful a little similar to salzburg. We have fallen in love ...

... countries as we drove parallel to Lichtenstein for about 30 km. Drove to Chur, our first "Night Halt" campsite. You camp outside a campsite, can use their water, electricity, etc, and costs about half the full camping fee. OK for us. Walked down to look at the roaring river next to the camp. Heard what we thought were gunshots, but discovered they were blasting in a nearby quarry. Only once in the night! Great night's sleep with the roar of the Au river to lull us to ...
Today was going to be a riding day but due to traffic and the weather we really just travelled. The scenery was beautiful, majestic alps, mountain tunnels, avalanche tunnels which are only one sided, rolling green hills spotted with cows all sporting the latest in cow bells and fields full of wild flowers all in bloom. As we passed into Switzerland it was decided that we should eat Swiss chocolate as we went through - it is our international duty. We dutifully bought ...
