The grant funding we received has allowed us to stay in nicer hotels than we would otherwise have been able to afford (shout out to our Holiday Inns!)—and so we are so grateful to have received the Lily Endowment Clergy Renewal Grant. When we buy supper for someone and they thank us, I say, “Don’t thank us, it’s Lily! And she is a very generous lady.” Thanks Lily!

... tour with audio. The kids enjoyed it and were interested to see the basic conditions and small cells. They were more interested in the escapes! At 2pm we thought they needed to be reminded of freedom so set off on bikes over the Golden Gate Bridge to Sausalito. Wow Totally recommend this amazing track and views and bridge. Come on Auckland, we could cycle or walk for free!! However in winter 2pm on a lovely Saturday could be a bit late to set ...

... again. It is now moved to an even dodgier part of town. Hopefully it will still be there when we go to leave SFO tomorrow! Muni, whom we had considered a good travel companion, is now a foe! First destination, The Painted Ladies. Muni obviously doesn't have a clue where they are. Dropping us off 3/4 hr walk from the proper destination, saw us enjoying not only a long walk, but the beauty of some fabulously decorated homes. As it turns out-more ...

The journey of a 1000 miles starts with a photo. Sabbatical number two. Fewer countries this time; just the "lands" -- England, Iceland, Greenland.
