    ... I recognised her straight away. She is so so welcoming and her flat is very comfortable, includes an en suite in my bedroom and in the community of houses there is a shared pool and gym, which I'm hoping to use! She is happy for me to use this as a base and come and go as I please while I'm here... I've not many solid plans, but going south to Chennai is scheduled in for mid September, so I have 5 weeks ...

    ... but ventured out for a slow stroll…and I mean slow…one becomes breathless going up a slight incline! The scenery is unreal and beautiful and the mud bricks that are used for the architecture are so cool!     ... at the residents all dressed in maroon robes before heading to the Aga Khan Palace, where Ghandi was imprisoned. Despite it's astounding lack of historical information we enjoyed our tiffin (Indian packed lunch) in its beautiful grounds. It was during this weekend we developed the infamous 'chapathi challenge'; a game where the last person to strike a pose whilst balancing an item on their head is forced to eat an extra chapathi at the next meal (see photo).     ... 8230;I don’t think I felt the need to shower for five days! I also got to visit the Dalai Lama’s temple in Dharamshalla. Its incredible how so many religions live together here… not always in peace but for the most part, all working towards it. And now…I’m back in Pune waiting for my poor mother to arrive.
