Stayed two nights at this hotel (as part of an organised tour). The building is modern and seemed very new. I was part of a triple and the hotel accommodated us in a very large room with lots of huge windows overlooking the street.

The hotel was in a very central location and it was very easy to walk to restaurants, shopping, the train station and the old town.

The room was clean and beds were comfortable. You could open the windows. The bathroom was also spacious and fairly luxurious.

Breakfast was included and there was a large selection of food to choose from.

Free wifi was available in the rooms and lobby.

Nice modern hotel in an excellent location. Just a short walk across the old wooden covered bridge to the historic area of Lucerne. Only negative is the hotel did not have free WiFi in the guest rooms or the reception area.

          Day 7: Switzerland

A travel blog entry by creeky on Jul 12, 2015

Today we got to have a relaxing day in Lucerne. We got up a little later and were one of the last to breakfast. We decided to go for a walk but discovered due to today being a Sunday, most places were closed. So we headed to the hotel for some advice as to whether anything was open and were directed to the train station. When we got to the station …

Breakfast and off on the last optional experience, Lake Lucerne cruise & Mount Stanserhorn. We enjoyed a leisurely trip across the lake, Lake Lucerne is only 3-7 meters deep close to the edges and at 9am there were plenty of people out swimming & enjoying the 21 lake. The lake is drinking quality water but that would depend on how many …

          Day 6: Switzerland

A travel blog entry by creeky on Jul 11, 2015

Day 4 started in the usual fashion, up at 6:30, bags out and breakfast at 7 and depart at 8. We travelled for about an hr to Heidelberg, which has been best known as a university town, thus not destroyed in World War Two by the allies. Here we got to go and view the ruins of the sandstone castle which dates back to the 11th century. Back on the bus …

Today was spent in Lucerne enjoying the beautiful countryside on a beautiful clear day and then taking the cog train to the top of Mount Pilatus ,there are only a few days of the year there in no cloud on top and this is one of them, how lucky are we.
Firstly we took the coach to a typical rural community, and was met by a local farmer with …
