The drive back to Chania didn't take long, we headed for the sports area with the sandy coves. When we arrived it was busy with people taking their daily exercise, walkers some with dogs, some with prams, joggers and cyclists were completing circuits if the park. We went for a walk up over the headland following a path that weaved in between boulders and shrubs, we could see some people swimming in the cove it looked very inviting. After coffee we took our chairs ...

It's another beautiful day, we exercised Logan on the beach before driving to Chania. The route we took was over the hill back to Almyrios, we really like this area. ... wondering what had arrived. Once they had moved on we got out to take a walk, we walked up the road passing some very strange rock formations, we could clearly see stalactites hanging down, mostly broken, behind them were large cave like recesses, they looked like big teeth. We tried taking a track close to the river but where the crossing to the other side was, was flooded. We turned back and continued up the road, taking a right turn ...

... up to the fortress, passing the church which had a very ornate gateway with a clock and bell built in it. We explored the ruins and walked across the headland the views of both sides of the town were good from here and we could see the fresh snow on the mountain tops. It was very windy and the gusts buffeted us about. We walked back down and on to the sea front, the waves were pounding over the sea defences on to the road, we stopped to take some pictures, ...

... storm. We stopped outside, there were a couple if campers parked inside but only a small gate was open. Les walked in to investigate, the reception was closed up.He returned soaked, We sat and wondered wether to just open the other gate and drive in, just as Les got out again to see if there was anyone in the other campers, the owner arrived. He was happy for us to stay and would only charge 5 euros per night. Once we were parked I walked over to the on site cafe to use the wifi, the ...
