We parted ways, and I headed to check in at Asiana Airlines. Really I can't stress enough how friendly these people were. not only was I guided to the next window with a small bow (yeah I bowed back out of reflex) but the gentleman that attended me was super nice as well. I suppose it pays to be friendly because not only did he assign me a window seat, but he also moved me to the emergency row with extra leg room for no extra charge.
... and the city was our last hurrah in New York, and the trip as a whole. And thats that! Its been an amazing journey and one that neither of us will ever forget! Seeing and experiencing so many different cultures has been both interesting and a real eye-opener at times! ... up in bed trying to figure out what had just happened. A second explosion occurred shortly after and I realised it was a thunder storm, but unlike any I had ever experienced. It was so loud that it was actually terrifying. I am on the top (fourth) floor of my building, so in my half-asleep and still slightly inebriated state I began building scenarios of the lightning striking the rook and me getting fried to a crisp or similar.
