Today we visited the fort and caves at Maastricht in Netherlands but as we were passing the Lindt factory seconds shop in Aachen we had to stop and shop. Lot's of chocolates available that we don't see in Australia, we have nearly demolished the block of dark chocolate with pomegranate and chili. The fort in Maastricht was built in 1800s to protect the town from the French. It didn't help much as they had ...

... mooring joined the Dutch boat and us for the next 3 locks; they had loud music and lots of drink on board (already lots consumed) and were having a good time, even though it was still morning. We do not know what the occasion was that they must have been celebrating.

        ... decent amount of time.

Werchter: The whole festival was set up just away from the small Belgian town of Werchter. Walked in to the town one day to stock up on beer supplies. There was a straight road from the town right up past the festival grounds and all of the camp grounds. It was a couple of kms long and basically the whole way was ...

I guess the theme to all these posts is beer, but come on. We are in the Netherlands, Germany, and Belgium after all. As you can tell we drank some great Belgian beer and had some great chocolate. Tongeren was also interesting because it is one of the oldest towns in Belgium, so it had a lot of cool old buildings and crumbling cobblestone ...

... not to do that exact thing. I'd think getting a little wet isn't as bad as getting violently tossed from a raft because you were standing up when it smacked into a rock, but then again, I spent the rest of the day rather damp as a result of this ride. The only other thing of note was that there was a pond next to this ride that was visible from the line, and it had some huge fish in it! By the way, this ride, the next one and the Cobra are all part of Ali Baba Land. There was ...
