After the cruise we stopped nearby for some lunch. We had the business lunch – salad, chicken broth soup and meatballs with spaghetti and ketchup – inexpensive and pretty good. We walked back to the hotel, keeping an eye out for an electrical adapter for Karl because he left his in Vaasa.

... rain. It finally stopped and we made our way along the Nevsky Prospekt, went souvenir shopping. We were hungry again and it was almost 7:30pm. We had dinner at Vesna, a lovely restaurant just a few minutes from the Church on Spilled Blood and on our way back to the hotel. We ordered some more traditional Russian/continental food and it was quite excellent. All in all, a very jam-packed fun day.

... bread into this pasta noodle thing. It was really good. Oh, and mushrooms...they really like mushrooms as they are all over the menu. For dessert I had a baked apple filled with berries. For my drink, I had this Russian cranberry juice.

After the meal we went to the theater . Five of us got cheaper tickets in the balcony because they looked good on the seating chart she gave...the others spent a lot more and got 6th row tickets... but I didn't want ...

... they simply didn't know what to do with it...well until the Bolshevicks took all of it and converted it to state money and then ushered in 80 years of soviet oppression....but I digress.

We headed back to the hotel to shower, change and get ready for dinner and our evening out. I was quite excited about the evening out, but I can not say the same about dinner. Let me take this minute to discuss food in Russia. Generally, not the best, but not nearly as bad ...
