Also the one-hour drive from Banff to Lake Louise is well worth a trip. There is an official highway leading there, but there is also an alternative route, just parallel to the highway, but so much more beautiful!
Lake Louise was frozen when we were there, so ...

So off we go in a weathered van up the side of Chachani for a 3 hour drive through a shanty town then switch backs all the way up to 4800 m (15,800') above Arequipa. We didn't need to get too early today because we don't have many things planned. This is Tori's last day and she will need to be at the airport by around 4 pm. We get up around 9 am and pack Tori's things so we won't need to drop by the hotel again before the airport.

We are headed to Calgary Olympic park where we plan to go on the Skyline Lluge and ...
