... and yes, the mountains are impressive.
As we didn't want to take Frankie too high into the alps, we chose a campsite at Lausanne on Lake Geneva. It is known as Lac Leman by the locals. The first day we went to the lake to have a look. The water was clear, blue and very clean. Apparently it has not always been like it and in the 1960's it was too polluted to swim in. When you stay ...

The mist was very refreshing and rainbows were easily spotted. We then found some shade on the beach and ...

... en France. With very, very few notable exceptions, the French people have been simply merveilleux. They have wished me well - bon courage; bon chemin; bonne route, etc - countless times. They've offered to fill my water bottle. They've offered me lifts (!!!). They've taken an interest in what I'm doing. My highest accolades are reserved for the pilgrim host families. They take people into their homes and you quickly feel you are important to them. The pride and affection they ...

... also helps and is one of my arguments for being on it, we connected a few years ago and I suppose caught up in cyberspace, so when we finally saw each other we had reconnected so to speak. So Lerina was the pull factor for Lausanne. We typed in the address into the Tom Tom and as it took us a little outside of Lausanne we started to second guess our navigation apparatus, more so when we parked outside the destination right opposite a ...
